Educational Therapist

Job Summary: We are looking for an Educational Therapist to provide individualized and/or small group educational support to students with diverse learning needs.

The successful candidate will develop and implement tailored educational plans, provide exam preparation and support, and collaborate with teachers and relevant stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessment and Intervention: Develop and implement individualized educational plans to support students' academic and emotional growth.
• Educational Support: Provide one-on-one and/or small group educational support to students, focusing on areas such as literacy, numeracy, study skills, and exam preparation.
• Study Skills: Identify learning strengths and challenges and analyze study habits.
• Exam Preparation and Support: Develop and implement exam preparation strategies to support students' academic success.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with teachers and other allied health professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support. Communicate regularly with teachers and stakeholders to provide updates on student progress.
• Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor student progress and adjust educational plans accordingly. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on student progress.

Qualifications:

• A recognized teaching degree or equivalent.
• A Master's or Diploma in Special Needs, Dyslexia and/or Dyscalculia etc.
• Proven experience teaching students with special needs, learning disabilities (secondary school level - an advantage).
• Familiarity with exam preparation and support (desirable).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and team members.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
