About the role

We are seeking an experienced Editor to join our team at Universe Scientific Publishing Pte. Ltd., based in the vibrant Clarke Quay Central Region. As our Editor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the content and quality of our scientific publications, ensuring they meet the highest standards expected by our global audience.

This is a full-time position, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and innovative publishing house at the forefront of scientific discourse.

What you'll be doing

• Collect, research, and organize data from various professional academic databases, and ensure the proper indexing and inclusion of company products in relevant international databases.

• Plan, prepare, and implement the submission of new scientific content products developed by the company.

• Standardize and improve the overall quality of assigned English scientific journal products, maintain communication with third-party industry standard organizations, and ensure smooth product operations.

• Assist in maintaining and updating the content of the company’s official website.

• Coordinate and communicate with other departments, and handle tasks such as translation, organization, and summarization of manuscripts.

• Contributing to the strategic development of our editorial policies and procedures

• Representing the company at industry events and conferences

What we're looking for

• Education: Master’s degree or above.

• Work Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with experience or internships in translation (Chinese-English), publishing, academic journals, or professional editing.

• Other Requirements: Strong writing and editing skills, good communication and coordination abilities, proficiency in basic office software, and a strong sense of responsibility and mission.

• Strong command of the English language, with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

• In-depth knowledge of scientific publication best practices and the ability to interpret complex technical content

• Proven track record of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with authors, reviewers, and internal teams

• A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high editorial standards

• Familiarity with manuscript management systems and publishing workflows

• Applicant must know Chinese.
