As a Senior Equipment Engineer/Equipment Engineer in the EDE-SG, you will be expected to support R&D activities associated with rapid deployment of First-of-Kind equipment, the CIP hardware evaluations, and managing timelines needed for deployment in current and next-generation technodes. Good team spirit and collaboration with various stakeholders, including facilities, fab support, Gas & Chemical, EHS, F4, F10, and the Central team, are essential for equipment setup, improvement work, and engagement on upcoming First-of-Kind equipment in future technodes. You should work independently with minimal guidance, complete projects on time, and achieve set objectives.
Responsibilities
- Install equipment and/or CIP hardware for evaluation by the process development team to enable early introduction, maturity, and adoption for current and next node of 3D NAND technology.
- Collaborate with the Fab layout and facility teams to ensure smooth and timely installation and operation of equipment.
- Work with the process development team to quantify benefits of equipment and CIP hardware.
- Develop and optimize existing equipment hardware to meet productivity requirements of advanced 3D NAND parts.
- Participate with equipment development peers on technology choices for upcoming nodes and translate future technology needs into clear equipment requirements.
- Identify disruptive equipment early and work with manufacturing to evaluate viable evaluation paths.
- Design and implement advanced equipment monitoring and control methodologies.
- Lead teams, sites, or suppliers on complex projects to achieve equipment maturity rapidly for technical advantage, cost savings, and productivity.
- Serve as a technical expert, providing advice and recommendations to senior management, and lead innovation projects through patents and technical papers.
- Identify and resolve safety hazards, following safety procedures including lockout, chemical safety, lifting techniques, and ergonomic methods.
Requirements
- Engineer: Fresh graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree are welcome to apply.
- Senior Engineer: Minimum of a PhD or over 3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry in equipment engineering roles.
- Deep understanding of equipment operation, working principles, troubleshooting, and tool installation procedures.
- Experience with R&D equipment transfer and ability to develop/optimize equipment hardware design is preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, both locally and globally, with strict adherence to Micron’s IP policies.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and flexible to extended working hours as required in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for clear and effective messaging globally.
- Strong project prioritization and management skills, with the ability to utilize resources effectively and seek help when needed.
