An established industry player is seeking a COO for a family office, focusing on finance and operations. This pivotal role involves leading the finance function, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess over 12 years of experience, showcasing strong analytical and communication skills. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence key business decisions in a dynamic environment. Join a forward-thinking team dedicated to excellence and innovation in financial management.
We are partnering with a privately held family office to hire a seasoned finance and operations professional to take on a broad, high-impact role supporting the Principal across strategic financial management, investment operations, and business execution.
Responsibilities
This role will lead the end-to-end finance function, including budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and investment tracking across multiple entities. The individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, payments, reconciliations, and cash flow, while ensuring compliance across jurisdictions by working closely with external auditors, accountants, tax advisors, and legal counsel.
Beyond finance, the successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting strategic initiatives and special projects - such as new business ventures, corporate turnarounds, or restructurings - coordinating internal and external stakeholders to drive outcomes. They will also oversee the smooth running of the family office's operations, manage confidential documents, liaise with banks and service providers, and maintain systems and processes that support efficiency and resilience.
Requirements
We are looking for someone with at least 12 years of experience, ideally in a family office, private investment firm, fund management, or boutique advisory environment. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, discreet, resourceful, and able to manage complex financial and operational matters independently. A strong sense of ownership, excellent communication skills, and comfort working in a lean, agile setup are key to success in this role.
