Overview

The Cloud Engineer will be involved in application infrastructure support and operations hosted in both the Government Data Centre (GDC) and Government Commercial Cloud (GCC).

What we seek to accomplish together:

1. Manage infrastructure services that enable the application systems environment, including patch management and asset management.

2. Support application architecture design, integration, acceptance testing, and infrastructure performance testing. Assist in Incident and Problem Management outside standard operating procedures.

3. Track cases and follow up on problem resolution.

4. Plan, manage, and deploy Cloud services with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) such as Azure and AWS.

5. Design system architecture, resource planning, and manage infrastructure performance and hosting environments, including server hardware, OS, virtualization, and storage, supporting new applications.

6. Utilize automation and orchestration platforms (e.g., Scripts, Ansible, Terraform) for Infrastructure Automation tasks.

7. Manage CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Bamboo, GitLab, Azure DevOps, SHIP/HAT.

8. Ensure smooth and sustainable operations, including resiliency requirements, with a strong understanding of systems operations environment.

9. Understand Government Cloud IT Security Policies. Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Perl, Shell, AWK, TCL) and communication protocols (REST, SNMP, SOAP).
