Facility Engineer (1 Year Contract, Renewable)

The Facility Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of facility systems and infrastructure to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable environment. This includes managing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, coordinating facility upgrades and repairs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, contractors, and vendors to implement sustainable solutions and support operational goals. Key duties include troubleshooting issues, developing maintenance schedules, and managing project activities involving facility changes. The ideal candidate has experience in mechanical, electrical, or facilities engineering, with strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and experience in facility management or engineering.

Your Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provide 24/7 support as needed to respond to equipment failures, out-of-spec conditions, or emergencies, maintaining continuous operational status.
  • Conduct regular facilities inspections to identify issues, assess system conditions, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and building code regulations.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues with facility systems, coordinating with technicians and external vendors to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all critical systems to extend equipment lifespan and reduce failure risks.
  • Collaborate with external contractors, suppliers, and service providers to source materials, ensure timely delivery, and maintain documentation of purchase orders.
  • Work closely with the Facility Manager to monitor the performance of outsourced contractors.
  • Coordinate with the safety officer to ensure facilities adhere to statutory regulations, including fire codes, safety standards, and environmental guidelines, with proper documentation.
  • Manage non-conformance events, propose and implement corrective actions, and verify their effectiveness through follow-up checks.
  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits by ensuring compliance and providing accurate documentation.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for facility-related incidents to minimize risks.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Operations, Quality, Safety, and Management to align facility operations with organizational objectives.
Your Profile
  • Minimum diploma in Facilities Management or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in facility engineering, management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in managing building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and overseeing facility maintenance or improvement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities-related regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to effectively manage contractors and vendors, ensuring quality work and service.
  • A team player with hands-on capabilities and strong interpersonal skills.
