We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Desktop Support Engineer to provide IT support services across the organization. This role will involve assisting with onboarding and offboarding of employees, managing IT assets, supporting office IT infrastructure, and collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth operational processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop support, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage IT-related onboarding activities for new hires, including requisitioning laptops, accessories, and peripherals to ensure a seamless start.
- Assist in offboarding activities for resigned employees, ensuring the return of IT equipment and completion of all sign-off processes before submission to HR for final payroll processing.
- Grant appropriate system and software access to users, ensuring all access approvals are obtained and security protocols are followed.
- Maintain user access controls and perform periodic reviews to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Coordinate the purchase of office IT equipment, perform setup and configuration of desktops, laptops, and peripherals for new and existing employees.
- Ensure all office IT assets are properly tagged, tracked, and managed throughout their lifecycle.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT equipment, including regular tagging, tracking, and audits of hardware assets.
- Generate reports related to user access, equipment allocation, and asset status for management review.
- Track purchased software licenses, ensure timely renewals, and manage license allocations across the organization.
- Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of software tools and applications and make recommendations to management for further actions.
- Support HR in the implementation of software applications (e.g., OKR, ATS) and provide ongoing troubleshooting and user support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, particularly in setting up product showcases, such as for robotics products, ensuring all technical aspects are handled smoothly.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for IT support processes to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
- Assist in preparing for the annual audit exercise, ensuring all IT assets and processes are in compliance with organizational standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in a related IT field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a desktop support or IT support role, with demonstrated proficiency in the tasks mentioned above
