A leading construction company is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support project management tasks. The role involves overseeing contracts, managing costs, and ensuring compliance with project requirements. Ideal candidates will possess a degree in Quantity Surveying or related fields and have strong analytical skills.
Job Responsibilities
Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor or Contracts Manager in overseeing all quantity surveying tasks related to Sub-Contracts, Works Orders, and Purchase Orders for assigned projects.
Manage contractual and costing matters, such as verifying invoices for payment, assessing contractors' claims for variation works, extension of time, loss and expense, final account and handling of contractual disputes.
Based on information provided, update variation in claims, projects handover dates
Submit and monitor monthly and final project claims
Address concerns regarding payment claim breakdown formats/ amounts, invoicing, variation orders, final accounts, etc.
Channeling other enquiries to the respective persons-in-charge
Ensuring proper filing and storage of related documents (e.g., certificates, variation orders, Engineer's Instructions, Statements of Final Account, etc.).
Obtain Monthly Progress Reports by deadline
To liaise with relevant Dept for Synergix activity code cost to date and budget monitoring
Ensure prepared subcontract agreement scope of work, pricing etc. in order
Responsible for detailed and accurate measuring quantity and taking off
Sourcing materials and send quotation inquiries to the vendors and subcontractors, comparison of quotes, review of prices, to ensure comply to contract requirement
Liaise and carry out evaluation and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
Study, identify and highlight discrepancies in tender/contract documents
To perform price comparison and quotation evaluation
Attend site and Consultant/ Technical meetings
Any other adhoc assignments as assign by the immediate Superior
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or construction management, or a related field.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to manage tight deadlines and high-pressure situations effectively.
Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as part of a dynamic team.
