Job description

Description

At Amazon Books, we believe reading is essential for a healthy society; our mission is to inspire readers by making it easy to read more and get more out of reading. We are seeking a highly motivated, data-driven and results-oriented Marketing Manager to lead our channel marketing efforts across multiple marketplaces in North America and Asia. Working in partnership with the Books global marketing team, you will help develop and execute the marketing strategy for Books across our major marketing channels, measure their effectiveness and use the data to improve channel effectiveness and efficiency.

A successful candidate in this role will be able to exercise the analytical and creative sides of marketing, operate independently even in ambiguous situations, and work well with a diverse set of stakeholders. The role requires excellent written and oral communication skills, as the candidate should be able to negotiate and influence priorities with multiple partners and stakeholders, and handle communications with senior management independently. This role is suited for candidates with prior experience in marketing roles, preferably with online or digital businesses. Experience in analyzing large datasets in Excel, and the ability to quickly build expertise in in-house tools will be necessary.

  3. Develop and implement marketing strategies to acquire, engage, and retain customers.
  4. Lead the marketing strategy and execution of large-scale sale events, and develop mechanisms to manage them efficiently.
  5. Partner with other global Books teams (Product, Marketing, Category) to launch new experiences in the marketplace and provide strategic marketing inputs into product roadmaps.
  6. Leverage metrics, analytics, and dashboards to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, and contribute to improving the initiatives and their reporting.
Basic Qualifications
  1. 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience.
  2. Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements.
  3. Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables).
  4. Experience building and optimizing multiple, simultaneous marketing campaigns.
  5. Experience managing or working within cross-functional marketing and creative teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience in digital marketing and content production timelines and processes.
  2. Experience in multi-territory campaign management.
  3. Experience in audience segmentation and targeting.
