Our client is a global custodian and fund administration bank onboarding a sovereign wealth fund client of Chinese origin. The bank provides custody, asset servicing, and fund admin services for this client. To implement this project, they are hiring a business project manager fluent in business Mandarin with relevant securities services domain expertise.
Position: Business Project Manager (Securities Services) - 1 Year Contract
Description
Our client is a global multi-asset servicing specialist dedicated to helping clients achieve their investment and cross-border distribution objectives. As one of the top 5 global custodians, they operate in over 90 markets. The firm offers integrated solutions to sell-side, buy-side, and issuer clients, leveraging its extensive network and local expertise to navigate the financial landscape.
Position Purpose
- Coordinate onboarding and transition activities for new and existing clients, including fund administration, global custody, transfer agency, middle office outsourcing, investment analytics/performance reporting, regulatory reporting, OTC derivatives, etc.
- Manage end-to-end client onboarding processes.
- Handle end-to-end coordination of new client change requests.
- Maintain and foster a strong client service culture across projects.
- Develop relationships with external parties and clients proactively, managing issues related to requirements, deliverables, and deadlines.
- Work independently, leveraging internal support to drive projects to successful go-live through effective project management.
- Continuously improve onboarding, transition, and change management documentation and procedures.
Responsibilities
Client Implementation & Change Management
- Coordinate client transition activities from initiation to go-live.
- Lead strategic client meetings to document timelines, deliverables, requirements, and dependencies.
- Maintain project governance with internal units for planning and tracking.
- Collaborate with custodians, investment managers, and third parties.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation for audit and control purposes.
- Communicate transparently with stakeholders throughout transitions.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to identify issues and promote continuous improvement.
- Deliver transitions following best practice methodologies, managing risks, quality, issues, and reporting.
- Build and maintain client relationships, acting as the main contact for implementation.
- Track key deliverables, escalate issues, and ensure sign-offs before go-live.
- Coordinate project deliverables with partners across multiple locations.
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Native Chinese speaker or proficient in business Chinese (reading, writing, speaking), with experience interacting with Chinese sovereign wealth funds.
- Independent project management capability.
- Stakeholder management skills at multiple levels.
- Strong documentation and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Middle Office, Asset Servicing, and Custody sectors.
- Ability to lead meetings, set agendas, and assign tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Project and Visio.
