Job description

Project Engineer reports to General Manager and is responsible for shipyard safety, vessel maintenance, repair and upgrades, and comply with environmental, safety and health procedures relating to facility operations.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or diploma in a related marine field.
  • Previous experience in a shipyard environment, preferably in a production or design office capacity.
  • Familiarity with vessel construction, shipbuilding processes, and related classifications and standards (e.g., ABS, Lloyd’s Register, DNV GL).
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, including scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to assist with shipyard facility maintenance and operational issues as needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with Classification Societies on new construction projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software and shipbuilding design tools.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices within shipyards.

DRA ofProject Engineer include:

  • Oversee the daily production activities related to the new construction of a vessel, and safety, ensuring progress is on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Interface with the Classification Society to ensure that all relevant regulations and standards are met during the construction process.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including production plans, schedules, and reports.
  • Monitor and manage project timelines, cost estimates, and resources to ensure the timely completion of the project.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in the construction process and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure the highest standards of workmanship are maintained throughout construction.
  • Assist with the maintenance of shipyard facilities and ensure equipment is operational, meeting safety and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with the internal and external design team to resolve any technical issues that arise during production.
  • To perform any other ad-hoc duties and projects when required.
