An innovative firm is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design and develop state-of-the-art industrial sensors. This role involves researching and improving sensor technologies, collaborating with teams for product lifecycle management, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong CAD skills, particularly in SolidWorks, and have a solid understanding of manufacturing processes. Responsibilities:
Research, design and develop new and/or improve industrial sensors that meet customer requirements
Provide design support for product modifications, cost reductions, function improvements, manufacturing process improvements and other technical support activities
Create and manage design proposals, design specifications, engineering drawings, and other required technical documents
Perform FMEA, DFM, tolerance and other analysis prior to mass production
Create test plan and perform mechanical verification and support product verification and validation to fulfil product requirements
Collaborate with cross functional teams to sustain the product lifecycle including customer complaints, tooling renewal, failure analysis, etc.
Liaising with Headquarter on the technical support and technology transfer
Verify regulatory compliance (UL, CE, RoHS/REACH, etc.) with support from approval department
Requirements:
Master/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 3 years relevant experience
Strong knowledge in design plastic moulding, metal injection moulding, sheet metal fabrication and other manufacturing technologies
Good knowledge in mechanics, design theory, material science, inter-part bonding (plastic-to-plastic, metal-to-plastic, etc.)
Strong 2D & 3D CAD skills, SolidWorks is preferred
Knowledge of optics will be an added value
Open-minded, team player, creative, self-driven and willing to acquire new skills and grow in the position
