The job of an academic is challenging and meaningful. A lecturer at Media, Arts & Design school (MAD) will need to have strong knowledge and working experience in the domain areas of storytelling, scriptwriting and content creation. He/She will be required to have a good grasp of media trends. He/She will be required to develop and teach key modules in the Specialisation, as well as in MAD. Beyond that, he/she should be confident to manage both student and industry projects and help maintain relationships with key industry partners.

Administrative work related to teaching and School/Institutional strategic initiatives will be an important part of the job. Successful candidates must have strong communication skills, highly analytical, resourceful a well as possess a passion for working with youths, nurturing them, and moulding their characters.

The appointee must be able to teach the following areas:

  • Storytelling
  • Scriptwriting for Scripted & Factual Content
  • Production & filmmaking


[What you will be working on]

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate face-to-face lessons, implement, and inspire students through different learning pedagogies, industry engagement activities and pastoral care.
  • Manage content on learning management systems.
  • Mark and process assessments.
  • Manage industry partners or projects.


[What we are looking for]

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in writing and production.
  • Proficiency in storytelling, writing, production, creating content for different audiences.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest scriptwriting and editing software and Adobe Creative Suite to support student’s learning.
  • Having teaching experience will be a plus.


Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
