Production Supervisor (Office Hours, Chemical Plant)
Job Description:
  • Working Location: Jurong Island
  • Working Hours: Weekdays, 8am to 4:30pm
  • Transport from Jurong East MRT

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Engineer. In this role, you will ensure smooth and safe plant operations by making necessary process adjustments, managing shutdown work with the maintenance team, and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs). You will also play a key role in training new employees and maintaining operational excellence throughout the startup phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage plant operations, supporting shift supervisors and production technicians.
  • Oversee the utility supply system and ensure efficient operation.
  • Coordinate the disposal of waste products with authorized waste handling companies.
  • Manage raw material inventories and prepare equipment for maintenance and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Department on transition and shutdown maintenance planning.
  • Review and update all SOPs and training manuals; conduct classroom and on-the-job training for production technicians.
  • Lead safety activities (e.g., PPE, 5S, KY) and ensure compliance with HSEQ policies and ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SS 651).
  • Support the training and supervision of new and existing production personnel.
  • Drive continual process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a polymer or petrochemical plant.
  • Proven leadership experience in a supervisory or lead role.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety rules and processes required in chemical plant operations.
  • Hands-on experience with chemical plant equipment (e.g., distillation columns, heat exchangers, pumps, extruders, reactors).
  • Familiarity with utility supply systems (e.g., cooling towers, air compressors, chillers, RO units).
  • Experience with waste management systems.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong initiative and sound judgment in decision-making.
