Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day workshop operations including production planning, manpower, and job execution.
• Lead and supervise a team of welders, machinists, and fabrication staff.
• Ensure job orders are completed within schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and maintain a clean, compliant facility.
• Identify new business opportunities and potential clients in industries requiring custom metal works.
• Attend meetings, prepare quotations, and present technical proposals to clients.
• Oversee project bidding processes and support the preparation of tender submissions.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and follow through on client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with the Director on sales strategies, pricing, and market positioning.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a managerial or sales/business development role.
• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication processes (e.g., welding, shearing, bending).
• Proven experience in managing operations and handling client accounts or securing projects.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Able to read technical drawings and manage pricing or cost estimates.
• Familiarity with tendering and quotation procedures in the construction or industrial sectors.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and a results-driven attitude.
