We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Homeroom Teacher to join our team at Centrium, with a preference for candidates familiar with the Cambridge curriculum and passionate about fostering academic excellence, especially in business education.

Purpose of Job
  • Maintain high academic standards within the subject area.
  • Support students' learning journey through Secondary School, setting high aspirations for achievement and development both in and outside the classroom.
  • Model and promote best teaching practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate all aspects of the subject's work, responding to emergent issues to support student learning.
  • Provide holistic pastoral support and engage with parents to support students’ progress.
Overall Responsibilities
  • Promote high standards in all aspects of school life, especially student progress.
  • Support the school's mission, values, culture, and policies.
  • Inspire and motivate students and staff.
  • Follow the Invictus Staff Handbook and related policies.
  • Contribute to a positive, purposeful, and professional school culture.
  • Participate in appraisal and performance management processes.
  • Share additional duties fairly.
  • Maintain an appropriate teaching load as directed.
  • Support and attend major school events.
  • Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Teaching, Learning and Assessment
  • Set high personal expectations in teaching, curriculum planning, and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with UK National Curriculum guidelines and school-specific schemes of work.
  • Engage in CPD to stay updated with curriculum developments.
  • Plan, prepare, and document lessons effectively.
  • Manage curriculum resources to challenge and interest students.
  • Deliver curriculum in line with policies and procedures.
  • Assess and monitor student learning continuously.
  • Prepare students for assessments and examinations.
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments.
  • Write performance reports as required.
  • Promote independence and leadership among students.
  • Ensure internal exams meet external standards.
  • Develop cross-curricular skills like literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy.
Personal Specification

Qualifications: Degree with UK PGCE or QTS; knowledge of UK curriculum; evidence of CPD.

Experience: Minimum two years of teaching; familiarity with safeguarding policies; ICT in teaching; pastoral experience; working with EAL students.

Personal Qualities: Respect, passion, inspiration, positivity, motivation, empathy, humility.

Other Requirements

Clean enhanced DBS or police check; suitability to work with children.
