The Role:

  • The candidate will be working in a dynamic and fast paced environment, working with cross-team members in different geographical locations to deliver optimal manufacturing solutions within a given schedule
  • Lead an end-to-end delivery of the project from design and development until full scale production solutions at a designated Dyson manufacturing site
  • Technically sound in providing, sourcing and evaluating technological solutions to each process requirement
  • Familiarity in development and delivery of customized manufacturing solutions in an NPI point of view and provide feedback on the parts and product design manufacturability
  • Able to assess risks and opportunities at a given situation and translate it to project benefit in terms time, cost and quality
  • Working knowledge on Mechanical and Process Engineering principles and able to interpret mechanical drawing controls and tolerances
  • Works collaboratively with other cross-function teams in attaining the project and business goals
  • Main responsible in delivering equipment OEE to a set acceptance criteria prior to hand-over to production
  • Statistical knowledge and DFM/DFX exposure is preferred
  • Able to travel at a certain stretched duration

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the manufacturing development of complex Dyson Digital Motors from RDD Hand-over up to SOP
  • Generation of mass production equipment specification based on the process established in POP stage
  • Conduct detailed mechanical design and analysis, considering safety, reliability, ease of maintenance and performance standards
  • Collaborate with Design Team regarding manufacturing feasibility and provide inputs for design improvements, process selection benchmarking and sharing of best practices
  • Driver for DFM and DFX to ensure product can be manufactured consistently within a specified quality level at the most reasonable cost possible
  • Technical lead to address Supplier questions and clarifications during RFT discussions
  • Utilize statistical analysis to assess and improve the performance of automated machines, identifying areas for enhancement
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source components and materials for customized machines
  • Project lead and main coordinator for equipment commissioning. Working knowledge on IQ/OQ/PQ is preferred
  • Main responsible for completeness of Manufacturing Engineering project phase deliverables documentation prior to milestone review
  • Maintain communication and status update reporting to stakeholders
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements and best practices in factory automation

Key Skills / Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Mechatronic / Electrical / Electronics Engineering
  • Proven experience in designing customized automated machines for industrial applications
  • At least 5 years related industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes
  • Hands-on creation of project plans, with milestone reviews in between, from planning into execution
  • Able to lead the creation of risk assessment documents (NUDD and pFMEA)
  • Experience in writing detailed Equipment Specification and other tender documents
  • Demonstrated experience in equipment and production line commissioning standards and procedures
  • Knowledge on cycle time assessment (MTM / DFMA / DFAA).
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
