A leading insurance provider in Singapore is seeking a Life Underwriting Manager to oversee the Customer Service & Post-Claims Underwriting function. The role involves leading a team, ensuring service levels, and enhancing underwriting frameworks. Ideal candidates will have 5 to 10 years of experience in Life & Health underwriting, strong leadership skills, and exceptional analytical capabilities. This hybrid position offers a competitive salary.
We are currently partnering with a leading insurance provider to identify a seasoned underwriting leader to oversee their Customer Service & Post-Claims Underwriting function. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting post-claims risk assessments and delivering high-quality service in alignment with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of underwriters handling customer service-related and post-claims underwriting assessments
Monitor service levels and ensure timely case resolution in line with internal SLAs
Review complex or escalated appeal cases and provide expert-level recommendations
Maintain and enhance underwriting frameworks, SOPs, and process documentation
Collaborate cross-functionally with Claims, Customer Service, and other internal stakeholders for seamless case handovers
Prepare and present monthly underwriting performance reports and data trends
Ensure responsiveness to internal systems, case bookings, and email queries
Support the wider underwriting function on projects and initiatives as required
5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Life & Health underwriting
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and develop teams
Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with high expectations
