Assists the Chief Engineer in supervising and coordinating the activities of all Engineering personnel and to maintain the mechanical, electrical, electronic, structural and furnishing areas to the required standards.
- Supervise the department in the absence of the Chief Engineer
- Ensure the smooth operations and overall performance of the building and its facilities and all the building services including mechanical and engineering etc.
- Implement preventive maintenance and repair schedules for all hotel machinery, equipment, civil works and other facilities.
- Work with the team to resolve the day-to-day operating problems of the Engineering department
- Ensure proper planning and upkeep of the general maintenance program.
- Prioritize maintenance work orders and complaints in accordance to the department standards.
- Assist the Chief Engineer in planning and implementing Fire Safety related issue.
- Provide support to the Fire Safety Manager in carrying out annual fire safety procedural drills and evacuation exercises in the Hotel.
- Prepare, record and administer reports for the department.
- Supervise and check on repair work completed by staff or contractor.
- Inspect the maintenance standards of the guest rooms.
- Exercise direct control over junior staff in matters pertaining to work performance, attendance, discipline safety and house rules and regulations.
- Plan the monthly duty roster for all the Engineering staff.
- Responsible for planning the utilization of equipment and supplies.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management.
Job Requirement:
- Min ITE / Diploma in Engineering or Facilities Management with at least 3 years’ experience in a related field and position
- Prior work experience with hotels, commercial buildings or service apartments is an added advantage
- Strong Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing & Sanitary (MEP) knowledge.
- Good knowledge of fire & lift safety processes and procedures, preferably with Fire Safety Management certification
- Strong leadership and organization skills with the ability to train, coach and develop staff
