Job summary

National University of Singapore seeks a candidate to support a project titled “Cumulative Impact Assessment in Singapore Reservoirs.” You will collect field data in freshwater habitats, perform lab work on specimens and samples, and contribute to data analyses and writing technical reports.

The role requires a BSc (Hons) in ecology or life sciences, strong organization, and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Familiarity with R/MATLAB and software like MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in ecology and/or life science or equivalent.
• Good organizational skills and excellent attention to detail is essential.
• Independent, but also able to work well with others in a highly collaborative environment.
• Physically fit for extended field work in tropical freshwater environments.
• Laboratory and field experiences are highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe applications.
• Expertise in statistical and quantitative analysis within R and MATLAB.
• A valid Singapore Class 3 driving license is desirable; PPDCL is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Field data collection in freshwater habitats involving fish, macroinvertebrates, plankton and plants.
• Laboratory work including sorting and processing of specimens and water samples.
• Data analyses and technical report/scientific paper writing.
