Applies technical skill and dexterity in the operation of processing equipment used in tissue production to meet Edwards quality standards, regulatory requirements, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and participate in maintenance functions of all manufacturing equipment and ensure that they are all in good conditions.
- Schedule and perform all chemicals mixing activities and be accountable for chemicals mixing quality.
- Perform routine daily equipment inspections to ensure smooth production operations.
- Assist Engineers/Lead Technicians in building prototypes for feasibility studies, new equipment evaluation, and validation.
- Support engineers/lead technicians in equipment troubleshooting, enhancements, and new production line setup.
- Implement corrective actions in affected areas experiencing downtime, including assistance with exception work orders (EWOs), Equipment Non-Conformance Reports (ENCRs), and Out of Tolerance (OOT) issues.
- Participate in 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Procure, maintain, and track equipment spares and production consumables.
- Perform other incidental duties, such as occasional photocopying or deliveries.
Education and Experience:
National ITE Certificate (NITEC) or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience, including working knowledge of maintenance equipment and solutions mixing.
Additional Skills:
- Ability to read P&ID and wiring diagrams.
- Experience in jigs and fixtures design, tooling, and manufacturing aids modifications.
- Experience in process or equipment validation such as IQ, OQ, and PQ.
- Experience in continuous improvement projects.
- Good communication skills and proficiency in English (reading, speaking, writing).
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office.
- Substantial knowledge of routine preventive maintenance of production equipment.
- In-house training on specialty equipment operations.
- Strict attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices in a medical device environment.
- Ability to work in a team and independently, including inter-departmental collaboration.
- Adherence to company rules and safety protocols, including pandemic measures and environmental safety.
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM. Transportation provided from designated pick-up points.
