Job description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Partnering and Strategy:

   • Lead finance input into strategic projects and initiatives.

   • Support the management team in achieving commercial objectives and driving financial performance.

   • Maintain costings and support sales margin analysis.

   • Monitor KPIs and implement actions to meet corporate goals.

2. People Management:

   • Manage and develop the Finance team.

   • Set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and provide training and mentorship.

   • Contribute to the wider global finance function.

3. Transactional Processing and Financial Management:

   • Oversee accounts payable, receivable, inventory, payroll, banking, and other transactional processing.

   • Ensure compliance with tax planning, hedging, transfer pricing, and insurance policies.

   • Manage cash flow and balance sheet reconciliations.

   • Promote risk management and act as the financial data owner.

4. Processes and Controls:

   • Review and ensure effective internal controls and governance.

   • Lead process improvements and new ERP system implementations.

   • Support internal audits and compliance with company delegation of authority.

5. Budgeting and Forecasting:

   • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.

   • Utilize forecasting and budgeting software tools (FAB) to ensure accurate financial planning.

6. Reporting:

   • Provide accurate and timely financial reporting to the James Walker Group (JWG).

   • Ensure compliance with sustainability reporting and oversee Tableau BI reporting for commercial decision-making.

   • Manage statutory financial statements and tax reporting, liaising with external auditors.

7. IT Support:

   • Collaborate with the global IT team on ERP upgrades and data management.

8. Project Management:

   • Lead and support ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong financial and leadership experience.

• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic project management.

• Expertise in financial reporting and statutory requirements.

• Proven ability to manage and develop a finance team.

• Experience of working within a Group of Current/prior experience in a finance dept of a manufacturing company with ERP systems companies is advantageous.
