Job Description

Position: Service Delivery Director

The Service Delivery Director will be the primary point of contact for the services delivered under this contract and must attend all management meetings. In their absence, a higher authority representative, knowledgeable about the services, will represent them.

This role requires managing a large team of over 100 resources and possessing a strong technical background to oversee complex environments.

Responsibilities
  1. Project Delivery:
    • Review project lifecycle phases: initiation, planning, execution, and completion.
    • Assess project schedules, quality plans, budgets, and communication and risk management strategies.
    • Manage scope-related issues and disputes impacting schedule and costs.
    • Oversee integration of hardware, software, testing, business process review, and data migration activities.
    • Ensure project implementation aligns with schedules, budgets, manpower, and quality standards.
    • Address project overruns with senior management.
    • Monitor and report project progress.
    • Resource management to optimize productivity and reduce wastage.
    • Manage contracts and subcontractors.
    • Engage stakeholders effectively in project decisions.
    • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships by exceeding expectations.
    • Negotiate change control mechanisms with clients to meet schedules and prioritize business needs.
  2. Business Development:
    • Identify opportunities for service expansion and liaise with Account Managers.
    • Participate in pre-sales activities.
  3. Team Management:
    • Lead the project team, ensuring proposals and enhancements are beneficial and cost-effective.
    • Communicate business needs and system details to the team.
    • Engage in leadership activities, provide performance feedback, and coaching.
    • Monitor team performance, conduct team building, and provide leadership and coaching.
Qualifications
  1. Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  2. Typically 12 years of IT delivery experience.
  3. Extensive experience in IT operations management, including infrastructure planning, data center operations, network, server, and systems management, preferably supporting at least 10,000 users.
  4. ITIL Foundation certification, familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, and experience managing at least one reference site provided by the tenderer.
  5. Self-motivated with a positive attitude, creative, with excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including persuasive techniques.
  6. Ability to lead, develop, and maintain respectful and trusting relationships.
