About the Role

The Data Science team is a critical partner in product development and decision-making at Coinbase. As a Data Scientist II, you’ll work alongside Product, Engineering, and Design teams to provide strategic insights, guide experimentation, and help improve user experiences with data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed product analyses to answer key questions and make strategic recommendations.
  • Design and lead A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate product changes and business decisions.
  • Define, track, and maintain core metrics; contribute to data infrastructure improvements.
  • Communicate findings clearly and effectively to cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate on projects that drive product iteration and innovation.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Math, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science).
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in data science, preferably in a digital product environment.
  • Proficient in SQL for data analysis.
  • Skilled in Python for modeling, scripting, and automation.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, A/B testing, causal inference, and/or machine learning.

Nice to Have
  • Experience working in the fintech or crypto industry.
  • Familiarity with product development lifecycles and rapid iteration.
