Job description

What the role is:

As a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant of the Cybersecurity Engineering Centre (CSEC) IoT, OT and IIoT Security team, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Lead in driving agile efforts to secure emerging technologies (IoT, OT, edge computing, 5G, threat analytics) supporting Singapore’s digitalisation initiatives, including Strategic National Projects (such as Digital Identity, Smart City, Connected Vehicles) and broader digital trends (Consumer IoT, Industrial IoT, Medical IoT).

What you will be working on:
  • Lead strategic foresight, risk analysis, and horizon scanning of IoT technology advancements to anticipate and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
  • Support the standardisation of risk responses and develop governance frameworks for IoT/OT/IIoT deployments.
  • Lead research into relevant domains, identifying emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technological trends impacting cybersecurity, ensuring rigorous research to inform strategic decisions.
  • Conduct analysis of national cybersecurity strategies, policies, and initiatives to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement in IoT security.
  • Develop strategic reports and presentations communicating research findings and insights to technical teams and senior leadership.
  • Manage cybersecurity research projects, including scope, vendor coordination, timelines, budget, and resources.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to advance research objectives and promote innovation.
  • Mentor junior team members, supporting their professional growth and strengthening research capabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative IoT/IIoT/OT cybersecurity solutions.
What we are looking for:
  • 5-8 years of experience in IoT/OT/IIoT environments such as manufacturing, energy, healthcare, or transportation; specialization preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computing, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or related fields.
  • Certifications like CISSP, GICSP, IEC62443 are advantageous.
  • Good understanding of IoT/OT/IIoT domains, including secure communications (MQTT, CoAP, OPC UA), cryptography, control systems, and standards such as IEC62443, ISO/IEC 30141, NIST, CSA CCoP.
  • Strong technical curiosity and hands-on skills.
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with resourcefulness and motivation.
