Job description

Overall Job Responsibility

i’mable (read “I’m able”), the Public Education Initiative by SG Enable, celebrates the abilities of persons with disabilities and encourages everyone to take positive action for disability inclusion and commit to building a more inclusive society and enabling lives.

As part of the Public Education Department within the Enabling Village Division, you will be responsible for conceptualising and delivering programmes to drive the i’mable movement by working with employers, educators, social service agencies, essential service providers and strategic partners to promote disability awareness and inclusion in schools, at work and in the community.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Public Education Strategy : Implement programmes to raise awareness about disability and inclusion, encouraging action from the general public and fostering self-advocacy among persons with disabilities.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Establish and manage partnerships with stakeholders (e.g. government agencies, social service agencies, corporations, social enterprises, community partners) to develop programmes that promote disability awareness and inclusion.
  • Campaign Management : Work with appointed creative agency/agencies to develop and execute media campaigns, including resource creation and collateral design.
  • Grant Management : Administer the Public Education Grant aimed at supporting inclusive projects, including the processing of applications and overseeing grant disbursements.
  • Budget Management : Handle financial reporting and budget management related to the programmes and project grants.
  • Impact Assessment : Contribute to studies measuring the effectiveness of the media campaigns and funded projects, working with research agencies to gather and analyse data.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

  • Possesses a degree preferably in relevant discipline
  • 3-5 years’ experience in developing and delivering campaigns, events or programmes, executing open/grant calls and management of budgets to grantees/programme partners and staffing of advisory panel.
  • Possess problem-solving and analytical thinking, communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Able to persuade and influence others
  • Outgoing personality, action-oriented with a collaborative and can-do spirit
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, resourceful and work within tight deadlines
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong command of spoken and written English
