A leading company in logistics is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee finance operations, manage a team, and ensure compliance with taxation rules. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial reporting and proficiency in Oracle systems. Responsibilities include budgeting, cost optimization, and presenting financial insights during management meetings.
Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will oversee the finance and accounting operations, ensure compliance with taxation rules and procedures, and handle complex financial reporting. The role involves leading a team, preparing and analyzing budgets, capex/opex reports, and providing strategic financial insights during management meetings. This individual will collaborate with operations managers and department heads to optimize cost structures and secure bank facilities. Proficiency in Oracle financial systems is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership and Management
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
• Delegate tasks, set deadlines, and review work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
2. Financial Reporting and Budgeting
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Manage capex (capital expenditures) and opex (operating expenditures) reports.
• Provide accurate financial data to aid in decision-making and strategy development.
3. Taxation Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all applicable taxation rules and procedures.
• Oversee tax filings, audits, and regulatory submissions.
4. Bank Facilities Management
• Apply for and manage bank facilities, including loans, lines of credit, and other financial instruments.
• Negotiate terms and monitor repayment schedules.
5. Costing and Cost Optimization
• Collaborate with operations managers to review and optimize cost structures.
• Analyze costing data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
6. Oracle System Expertise
• Utilize Oracle financial systems for reporting, data management, and process optimization.
• Ensure the accounting system is utilized effectively for seamless operations.
7. Management Reporting and Meetings
• Present financial reports, insights, and updates during weekly management meetings.
• Provide recommendations based on financial analysis and industry trends.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/CMA preferred.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Proficiency in Oracle financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of taxation laws, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Experience with budgeting, costing, capex/opex management, and financial reporting.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to present complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
