Job Description & Requirements

The jobholder is responsible for providing personalised and cost-effective care to clients in the Senior Care Centre, in accordance with established policies, procedures, standards of nursing care, and practices.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of clients.
  2. Perform clinical assessments and procedures to address clients' physical, medical, and psychosocial needs, respecting their autonomy and independence.
  3. Carry out prescribed treatments and procedures according to standards of practice and guidelines.
  4. Demonstrate and maintain good interpersonal skills with colleagues, clients, and the public.
  5. Lead a team of nursing staff to deliver coordinated and purposeful care to meet clients' rehabilitative and treatment needs.
  6. Guide and direct Enrolled Nurse level and below to ensure quality nursing care at all times.
  7. Develop dementia behaviour management plans for clients.
  8. Ensure proper diet management for clients, from procurement to delivery.
  9. Provide training on activities of daily living and health education to clients, their families, and the community.
  10. Record accurate and concise documentation of nursing care and related client matters.
  11. Assist other nursing staff during treatment and examinations.
  12. Practise and promote infection control measures based on current standards.
  13. Maintain a safe, clean, and conducive environment for clients and staff.
  14. Use equipment and supplies economically and carefully.
  15. Manage inventory of nursing supplies used by the centre.
  16. Follow nursing policies and procedural guidelines to ensure proper work execution.
  17. Provide orientation, guidance, mentoring, and coaching to new and less experienced staff.
  18. Participate in staff orientation and mentoring to ensure quality care delivery.
  19. Prepare work schedules and rosters for Enrolled Nurse level and below staff.
  20. Engage in in-service training to maintain skills and competencies.
  21. Participate in working committees as assigned.
  22. Engage in evidence-based discussions to update practices and improve client care.
  23. Serve as a role model to other staff.
  24. Perform other duties as assigned by the Centre Manager or Senior Staff Nurse.
