Job description

Key Responsibilities

Support the Impact Programme Manager in managing career advisory and impact programmes for Bettr Academy. Assist with outreach, programme implementation, and service provision to support beneficiaries from diverse backgrounds, including mid-career transitioners, at-risk, and marginalized groups with complex needs. Lead the team in overseeing job support and career advisory services for students, reporting to the Impact Programmes Manager.

Leadership:

  • Manage outreach and engagement with social service agencies, nonprofits, and referral pathways to recruit programme participants.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners to foster the Bettr community.
  • Oversee employment partnerships, onboarding new partners aligned with the Bettr impact programme framework.
  • Build and sustain an alumni network through engagement campaigns, events, and learning opportunities.
  • Assist the Impact Manager in promoting positive employee relations through communication and team meetings.
  • Support the Bettr Group in achieving monthly targets and strategic goals.

Operational Duties:

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth programme operations.
  • Provide career advisory services to prospective students and guide them into appropriate programmes.
  • Plan outreach campaigns and partnership events.
  • Maintain and grow the community partner database.
  • Manage community platforms, including student management systems like WhatsApp groups.
  • Analyze and report on referral, outreach, and engagement trends.
  • Support clients with complex needs, including those facing mental health, physical health, unemployment, or social issues.
  • Assist in developing and implementing digital platforms to enhance organisational digitalisation, such as student management and learning systems.
  • Provide job support to students enrolled in impact programmes, including holistic training and career transition initiatives.
  • Participate in other projects as agreed with your supervisor.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years in partnerships, outreach, education, training, management, or an executive role.
  • Experience managing communities, partnerships, career advisory, and mentoring.
  • Proven ability to prepare and deliver reports verbally and in writing.
  • Experience supporting diverse groups and individuals with various support needs, including mental health, low income, unemployment, victims of abuse, offenders, substance abuse, and special educational needs.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with leadership and motivational abilities.
  • Risk assessment and problem-solving skills for decision-making.
  • Efficient record-keeping skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to handle conflicting demands and meet deadlines.
  • Experience dealing with challenging behaviour.
  • Ability to translate ideas and data into actionable plans.
  • Good understanding of relevant laws, policies, and ethical standards in the local context.
