Role Purpose

The Data Scientist is an expert-level position requiring strong technical skills, business understanding, and ownership of analytics solutions deployed into production. The role can be based in Singapore or Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business opportunities and develop data science strategies.
2. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of analytics requirements.
3. Develop and deploy complex predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
4. Contribute to the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of data science solutions.
5. Configure and implement data science models using technologies like Python.
6. Manage multiple deployments simultaneously.
7. Ensure quality assurance and testing of analytics solutions.
8. Lead and mentor data scientists within the team.
9. Manage small projects or parts of larger projects independently.
10. Communicate data science initiatives and results to senior management and stakeholders.
11. Stay updated on latest data science technologies and assess their impact on work.

Qualifications and Skills

1. Advanced degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or Analytics.
2. 7+ years in business intelligence or data mining.
3. 4+ years in statistical or machine learning data modeling.
4. Professional certification in Agile methodologies.
5. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data visualization tools like Power BI or JavaScript.
6. Knowledge of Agile and DataOps practices.
7. Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional and international teams.
8. Strong understanding of business areas such as logistics, customer relations, finance, etc.
9. Excellent communication skills in English, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
10. Strong analytical, design, problem-solving, and business acumen skills.
