Job description

You will support the HOD in the overall operational management, leadership and oversight for the performance and outcome of the trade department. This involves preparation of both long and short-term strategic vision, meticulous and innovative planning to ensure not only the continuous and uninterrupted operations of buildings, plant, and equipment, but also ensure the timely replacement of equipment, fixtures, all infrastructural assets, and facilities.

You will be an active participant in the Department’s role as project manager and executor to development, upgrading, repair & replacement projects and other estate management matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and directs programmes to maintain buildings, equipment (e.g. ACMV, M&E or Building services) and ground inclusive of appropriate preventive maintenance schedules and procedures
  • Develops and directs programmes to operate facilities and systems in a safe and efficient manner
  • Provides technical assistance to CGH administrators and staff in defining and evaluating Engineering requirements
  • Monitors work plans to support Hospital’s mission and quality commitments; set performance targets and monitors them
  • Co-ordinates construction with contractors, architects, engineers and appropriate authorities
  • Provides support for all inspection and acceptance activities related to new construction
  • Ensures quality, timely completion and budget accuracy of projects
  • Monitors contracted services for repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure cost consciousness
  • Attends, co-ordinates, designs, brief meetings of Facilities Planning where necessary
  • Assists in works relating to FM during emergencies e.g. infectious disease outbreak, civil disaster, etc
  • Works under broad guidelines and direction in accordance with professional standards and established policies.
  • Any other duties assigned from time to time

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Estate / Facility Management or any other relevant discipline
  • 2 years of experience in maintenance and managing of contractors (in projects and maintenance) is preferred
  • Candidates with no prior experience are welcome to apply
  • Good knowledge of regulatory standards and relevant Code of Practices
  • Project management and software drafting skills, i.e. AutoCAD, BIM
  • Contract drafting, evaluation and administration
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
