Head of Business Development - APAC

Cell & Gene Therapy / CDMO

A leading CDMO organisation operating in the advanced therapies space is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Leader to drive commercial growth and strategic partnerships across the Asia-Pacific region.

This is a confidential executive search for a company at the forefront of cell and gene therapy manufacturing, with a strong clinical and commercial pipeline and operations in a GMP-certified facility.

The organisation works with top-tier global biotech and pharma clients and is scaling its presence across APAC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the business development strategy for APAC, identifying and securing new client relationships.
  • Drive end-to-end commercial discussions—from early engagement through deal closure.
  • Build strategic partnerships with biotech, pharma, and research institutions across the region.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (technical, regulatory, operations) to support client onboarding and program success.
  • Represent the organization at industry events and conferences in the APAC region.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 10+ years in business development, partnerships, or commercial leadership roles within biotech, pharmaceutical, or CDMO environments.
  • Deep understanding of cell therapy, gene therapy, biologics, or ATMPs.
  • Demonstrated success building partnerships across APAC markets—particularly in Japan, South Korea, China, or Singapore.
  • Proven ability to manage complex deal structures and engage with both scientific and C-level stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Willingness to travel across the region as needed.
