The Role

This position will provide essential administrative and research support for a significant bilateral liver research collaboration between the NUS Medicine liver surgery and hepatology teams and Jilin University First Affiliated Hospital, part of China's One Belt and Road Initiative. The objective of this project is to establish a joint liver research laboratory aimed at advancing the study of liver disease across both institutions and fostering collaborations with regional healthcare partners.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless coordination, effective communication, and efficient management of research activities and resources, extending from Singapore to China and potentially other regional collaborators. This role will be critical in supporting various operational and secretarial functions, facilitating research administration, and taking a lead in organizing key scientific and educational events that contribute significantly to the growth and success of this impactful international research programme.

Job Responsibilities
  • Administer the collaborative Joint Liver Laboratory project with Jilin University First Affiliated Hospital under the One Belt and Road Initiative.
  • Serve as a liaison for communication and documentation between the Singapore and China project teams, as well as partners in Southeast Asia (e.g., Malaysia, Thailand).
  • Support research collaboration activities, including project management tasks (e.g., IRB applications, research database management), vendor liaison for research needs, and coordination with related research laboratories in Singapore (such as NUS Medicine and A*STAR).
  • Oversee purchase orders (PO) and other administrative requirements to ensure smooth operation of research projects.
  • Manage project documentation, including account management and compliance for the OBL project.
  • Assist in organising and managing joint events such as scientific symposiums and educational workshops.
