Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide application L1/L2 support and system checks (CPU, disk usage, logs, services).
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues.
  3. Monitor application health and system alerts, escalating issues as needed.
  4. Log incidents and service requests in the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution.
  5. Coordinate with L3 teams and vendors for issue escalation and follow-up.
  6. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as application updates, patching, and backups.
  7. Maintain clear documentation of issues, fixes, and procedures.
  8. Participate in system testing, deployment, and post-deployment support activities.
  9. Assist in user access management and configuration tasks.
Ideal candidate should have/possess:
  1. Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Communications Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 2 years in application support or server infrastructure setup.
  3. Experience with at least two of the following Virtualisation Technologies/Platforms: VMware, Xen, KVM, OpenStack, Cloud Stack, Azure Stack.
  4. Experience with cloud orchestration, configuration management, and auto-scaling techniques.
  5. Thorough knowledge of networking, routers, switches, and WiFi setup.
  6. Hands-on experience in deploying Ceph using different file systems such as object storage, RBD, CephFS storage.
  7. Good knowledge of storage technologies, such as NAS, SAN, SDS.
  8. Experience with automation tools such as Salt, Chef, Puppet, Ansible.
  9. Experience with load balancing setup for TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, routing.
  10. Experience in using software version control.
  11. Knowledge of IT security standards, for instance from CIS or IM8.
  12. Experience in IT security policy management and enforcement.
  13. Knowledge of computer hardware components and the ability to restore faulty servers.
  14. Experience in coding or scripting languages such as Bash, Windows Batch Script, PowerShell, Perl, Python, etc.
  15. Ability to install, use, and configure various Linux Operating Systems, such as RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS.
  16. Experience in system installation planning, execution, and routine maintenance.
