Job description

SA/AVP, Group Product Control Accounting Team, Group Finance

Business Function:
Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning, and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions, whether in product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.
The bank is a certified Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) for the Singapore Qualification Programme by the Singapore Accountancy Commission and an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Approved Employer.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accounting treatment, relevant accounting entries, and IFRS 9 monitoring.
  • Perform all necessary financial controls for Treasury activities.
  • Drive changes in current processes through data-driven initiatives.
  • Lead initiatives related to system upgrades and new transactions, including user testing and final implementation.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders on accounting issues.
  • Support regional hedge accounting activities.
  • Review hedge structures, underlying hedge risks, market movements, hedge effectiveness testing, controls around hedge accounting modules, system inputs, accounting entries, and related projects.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on audit requests and matters.

Requirements:

  • 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in product control, financial reporting, or audit functions within financial institutions.
  • Good understanding of financial reporting standards, especially IFRS 9.
  • Knowledge of treasury products and inherent risks in each asset class.
  • Working knowledge of accounting for treasury products.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently and drive process improvements.
  • Good team player with strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of Murex, PSGL systems, and dashboards is a plus.
