Job Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operation of the mission-critical IBM/i iSeries System and hosted applications to meet OLA/SLA standards.
- Support application, developer, and project teams for BAU, enhancements, and projects.
- Handle incident and problem management, including 24x7 escalated support for business operations.
- Collaborate with Internal IT and vendors to resolve complex issues and conduct RCA analysis.
- Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with corporate standards, operational processes, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures, audit requirements, and regulations.
- Maintain system readiness for recovery, ensuring HA system meets RPO/RTO targets.
Operation:
- Review and update system monitoring requirements; ensure system health and optimal performance.
- Conduct periodic capacity reviews; coordinate with stakeholders for capacity planning and upgrades.
- Plan and execute hardware, firmware, software, and OS PTF upgrades to ensure stability and lifecycle support.
- Maintain high availability (HA) setup, ensuring data synchronization and system health.
- Update backup schedules and monitor backups for completeness and readiness for recovery.
- Implement operational improvements, automation, and control measures for efficiency and security.
Technical:
- Provide technical leadership for the iSeries environment, including technology refresh projects like Power10 upgrade.
- Lead projects for system upgrades, patches, and new technology implementations.
- Coordinate system changes with proper planning, review, approval, and communication to ensure compliance.
- Plan and execute Disaster Recovery testing to verify system recovery readiness.
- Research and recommend solutions, tools, and processes for performance and efficiency improvements.
- Assess scope, costs, and oversee outside service providers to meet project and operational requirements.
Security/Compliance:
- Conduct continuous vulnerability assessments; ensure timely remediation of findings.
- Validate security setups, user access controls, and profile ownership to minimize risks.
Job Requirements
Education & Certification
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- IBM training and/or certification at any level.
- Training and certification in System Management.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
Experience
- At least 10+ years of hands-on experience in an iSeries environment.
- Experience with AS400, iSeries/Power systems refresh projects.
- Experience in secured operations, vulnerability management, and remediation.
- Deep understanding of compliance and audit requirements.
- Experience with ITIL best practices in Service Request, Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

- Remote Journaling, High Availability
- Backup and Recovery (BRMS, Flashcopy)
- Knowledge of ACSC and Infinium advantageous
- Deep understanding of security, vulnerability management, access control, and system remediation.
