Job summary

Nanyang Technological University’s ASE invites a Research Fellow to advance Earth system modeling and study land–surface interactions, climate–ecosystem coupling, and the role of human activity in environmental change.

The position is a one-year appointment with potential renewal, requiring a PhD in physical geography, remote sensing, or ecology, strong Python skills, and experience with HPC, climate datasets, and multi-source observations.

Qualifications

• PhD in physical geography, remote sensing, or ecology.
• Experience with ecosystem monitoring and climate–land interactions.
• Proficiency in Python and scientific computing.
• Experience with multi-source remote sensing data and HPC.

Responsibilities

• Collect, validate, and harmonize field and remote sensing data for ecosystem monitoring.
• Develop ML-based workflows to interpret ecosystem disturbances.
• Synthesize model simulations with observations to analyze land–atmosphere feedback.
• Mentor RAs and students and contribute to interdisciplinary collaboration.
