The incumbent is responsible for facilitating the extended childminding educational programme for children aged 3 to 8 years old as part of a team, and also assists in overseeing other children-related programmes in Yong-en Care Centre.
Job Responsibilities
1.1 Plan and implement curriculum and programmes
- Develop lesson plans and teaching materials and deliver lessons for children between 3 and 8 years old
- Implement classroom management strategies and enhance the learning environment with developmentally appropriate learning materials and resources
- Support alignment of teaching and learning approaches to curricula frameworks
- Engage children meaningfully in accordance with the curriculum and pedagogical frameworks
- Review and document children’s learning and development progress, goals and family priorities
- Apply the health, safety, nutritional and hygiene practices in accordance with standards and procedures
- Conduct learning needs assessment
1.2 Uplift professional practice of teaching
- Identifying new teaching and learning approaches based on emerging teaching and/or sector trends and implement appropriate classroom management strategies
- Participate in professional development and service quality improvement activities
1.3 Conduct routine caregiving
- Conduct caregiving assessment
- Provide caregiving in accordance with standards and procedures
- Identify areas for improvements in caregiving
1.4 Build stakeholder relationships and partnerships
- Coordinate class-based activities with a multi-disciplinary team and volunteers
- Support the implementation of centre initiatives and programmes and outreach activities to promote Centre programmes and services
- Train, guide and support volunteers in executing programme activities
- Collaborate with FSS staff and families to ensure continuity of care and learning between the home and the Centre
- Propose areas for improvements for family and community initiatives and programmes
1.5 Others
- Attend to public enquiries
- Maintain proper records and prepare reports
- Undertake any other projects or duties assigned
2.0 Requirements for the position:
- Entry level “A” level / Certificate / Diploma holder in Early Childhood Care & Education with childcare or student care experience preferred. Passionate about working with children 3-8 years old from disadvantaged family backgrounds

- Creative, proactive, responsible, and client-centric
- High integrity, strong team player, passionate about working with children and parents
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to converse in English, Mandarin, Malay and local languages
- Proficiency in MS365
- Able to commit to working at least 3 days on weekdays (3pm – 10pm) including some weekends alongside a multi-disciplinary team and volunteers
- Passionate to serve in the communities served by YCC.
