Job description

As the Presentations & Graphics Designer you will be required to apply your strong branding, illustration and data visualization skills, to interpret complex ideas and translate to simplistic and compelling design layouts.

The role will involve working closely with clients at different levels across the business, working with them to create strong narratives through their presentations and gaining valuable insight into how the team delivers on its exciting portfolio of work. Working with our onsite team and wider global design community, you will be able to develop your visual design skills and learn about all aspects of design.

Responsibilities:

Design and Production responsibilities:
  1. Produce high-quality design work including presentations in a range of formats. Concept designs, draft and final page layout designs, video and photo editing, data visualization, graphs, charts, typography, infographics, asset creation - illustrations, icons, etc.
  2. Work as part of the graphics and presentations team in a busy 24/7 department that produces pitch book materials and other marketing collateral.
  3. Collaborate with Project Coordinators and/or Creative Director on design projects.
  4. Take a slide/presentation and present it through a simplified and graphical layout.
  5. Assist with the production of pitch book materials using MS Office packages and offer conceptual and visual solutions to enhance client materials.
  6. Communicate with senior-level clients to understand their concepts and interpret them visually. Presentations are frequently created for multiple purposes, so the designer should be able to shift gears and adapt to different requirements.
  7. Support the production of presentations using the clients' proprietary template; necessary training will be provided.
  8. Ensure work adheres to all best practices and style guidelines, unless otherwise specified, and work toward 100% accuracy against style and brief.
  9. Organize work effectively to ensure deadlines are met.
  10. Continually improve knowledge of core software applications and provide testing, piloting, and support in line with business requirements.
  11. Proactively raise creative ideas and emerging trends in line with business objectives.
  12. Ensure a smooth handover occurs with Presentations colleagues, as well as design teams.
  13. Escalate any staff or client issues that may result in complaints or staffing problems in a timely manner.
  1. Proactively engage with clients to take detailed specifications and work briefs, ensuring such instructions are recorded for global designers to use.
  2. Record and summarize client instructions for designers and brief them on client requirements, if needed.
  3. Ensure a positive experience for our clients through clear communication over email/phone/chat and efficiently address queries and requests.
  4. Liaise with global clients (Bankers) in a professional and helpful manner, proactively managing their expectations and project deliveries.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
  1. Extensive experience (at least 4 years) in creative support within a corporate, service-oriented environment, ideally in a financial institution (essential).
  2. Experience of proofreading presentations within a financial environment (essential).
  3. Investment Banking / Asset Management / financial industry or similar experience (advantage).
  4. Advanced knowledge of industry standard graphic design applications (essential).
  5. Advanced knowledge (work experience of at least 4 years) of Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat Professional) (essential).
  6. Advanced knowledge (work experience of at least 4 years) of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) (essential).
  7. Knowledge of external print processes (desirable).
  8. Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
  9. Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  10. Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
  11. Proven organization and time management skills.
  12. Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Education:
  1. Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
