Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

· Responsible for all accounting operations including budgeting, cash flow forecasting, internal controls, monitoring, and preservation of company assets.

· Assist the Director in implementing accounting practices and procedures.

· Notify the Director of any anticipated problems to enable proactive measures.

· Ensure compliance with all governmental laws, policies, and regulations, and adhere to company policies and procedures.

· Maintain bank accounts, reconcile monthly, and submit reconciliation reports for approval. Monitor cash flow and update the Director regularly.

· Enhance knowledge of accounting software relevant to the construction industry.

· Conduct regular audits to verify transactions.

· Track company assets and liabilities; maintain files on loans, vehicles, and properties.

· Prepare period-end financial statements by the 14th of each month.

· Prepare documents for annual audits and liaise with auditors and company secretaries to provide necessary information.

· Review insurance coverages periodically to ensure cost-effectiveness.

· Ensure compliance with IRAS, CPF, MOM (FWL), and other relevant authorities.

· Maintain proper, organized, and current records of all financial reports and files.

· Handle processing, reviewing, tracking, and posting to the general ledger for all projects.

· Communicate with lenders regarding financial requirements for projects.

· Prepare monthly financial reports, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Project Cost, Work in Progress, and General Ledger postings.

· Calculate and invoice general contracting fees.

· Manage accounts receivable and understand construction billing and collection processes.

· Reconcile vendor statements and customer payments.

· Verify bills and purchase orders with project engineers and managers.

· Track purchases and expenses diligently.

· Perform monthly bank reconciliations and manage all payments and financial transactions.

· Monitor industry changes and innovations that could impact operations or client expectations.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

· Degree or Diploma in Accounting or equivalent (LCCI or ACCA).

· Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.

· Meticulous, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.

· Ability to maintain good relationships with lending institutions such as banks.

· Strong proficiency in accounting software, especially QuickBooks.

· Good understanding of banking facilities and services.
