Job description:
Responsibilities:
  1. Productivity:
  2. Deploy and assign projects to supervisors
  3. Set productivity targets for the team
  4. Evaluate and assess staff work performance
  5. Assess work progress on-board or in-workshop, verify against reports
  6. Plan departmental manpower projections, highlight shortfalls or spare resources
  7. Identify training needs for subordinates
  8. Manage staff recruitment, contract renewal, and appraisals
  9. Attend operational meetings
  10. Ensure work is carried out according to QPM
  1. Quality:
  2. Manage departmental improvement processes to enhance work quality
  1. Safety:
  2. Monitor and review departmental BBS and hazard reporting programs
  3. Implement safety work plans
  4. Perform safety audits on practices and employees
  5. Develop accident prevention programs
  6. Develop departmental skill training to meet objectives
  7. Attend VSCC meetings (if required)
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • Preferably 5-8 years of experience in the marine industry or similar capacity
  • Good knowledge of shipbuilding methods and construction
  • Experience in improving departmental productivity
  • Knowledge of class and SOLAS requirements
