Job Responsibilities

Part of the Overseas Compliance Management (OCM) AFC Assurance Team, responsible for planning and executing assurance reviews of AFC controls within UOB's international operations. Reporting to the OCM Head of AFC.

Assurance Planning
  • Assist the OCM Head of AFC Assurance in developing a comprehensive AFC assurance plan for UOB's international operations.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and conduct research to identify potential review areas, synthesizing findings for the Head of AFC Assurance.
  • Establish strong working relationships with local compliance teams in UOB's international operations, facilitating regular communication between these teams and the OCM AFC assurance team.
Assurance Execution
  • Plan specific assurance engagements, including scope, dependencies, and timelines. Communicate and align engagement plans with stakeholders.
  • Review relevant regulatory and policy documentation ahead of engagements, liaising with local compliance teams and Line 1 stakeholders as needed.
  • Develop detailed testing methodologies for each review in line with AFC assurance methodologies, coordinating with the Head of AFC Assurance.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of controls design, implementation, and effectiveness, including document reviews and interviews.
  • Draft review findings, assign ratings where applicable, and report key findings to the Head of AFC Assurance.
  • Collaborate with Line 1 and Line 2 (local compliance) teams on corrective action plans, monitor progress, and validate issues.
  • Assist in preparing reports and management information for senior management and committees, summarizing key activities.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Law, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in financial services assurance or compliance testing.
  • Strong knowledge of anti-financial crime processes and controls within financial services.
  • Data analytics skills preferred.
  • Understanding of Line 1 business divisions and activities within a full-service bank.
  • Knowledge of financial crime and financial services regulatory landscape, especially within SEA.
  • Willingness to travel 10-15% of the time.
