An established industry player in the hospitality sector seeks a dynamic HR Manager to oversee comprehensive HR functions. Job responsibilities:
1. Responsible for overseeing full spectrum of human resource (HR) functions including the talent acquisition and management, onboarding and offboarding, payroll, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, training and development and maintaining HR policies to ensure the best practices in alignment with to industry.
2. Manage and lead the HR team in executing the full spectrum of HR functions including full cycle of payroll administration; Mentor and nurture the team to support their career development and aspiration.
3. Work closely with the respective department manager to provide manpower advisory and staffing activities support in line with Club’s manpower needs.
4. Review and enforce HR policies, processes and procedures to maintain consistency and comply with legal and regulatory requirements and align with market practice to ensure relevancy as well as aligning Club’s goals.
5. Review, propose and implement compensation and benefits strategies aligning with market benchmarks and internal equity.
6. Proactively review, propose, implement engagement initiatives to promote employee retention, effectiveness and productivity at work, and overall positive workplace culture.
7. Review and enhance the performance management framework to drive high performance work teams, lead and execute the full cycle of yearly performance appraisal to annual increment and bonus exercise.
8. Oversee and ensure all government surveys, HR related funding and grants applications etc are submitted according to the requirements and timeframes.
9. Participate in the annual HR budgeting exercise aligning with Finance guidelines, plan and review with the respective department head in developing the overall budgeted manpower and costs.
10. Report HR updates in weekly meetings as well as monthly management and committee meetings on any HR updates/proposals etc.
11. Develop the learning and development strategy and identify training needs and develop appropriate development opportunities for employees.
12. Act as a key contact for employee relations, providing guidance and support to manage and resolve workplace issues and foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
13. Initiate the set-up of staff recreational committee to plan and execute recreational activities for the whole financial year within the assigned budget, to promote cohesiveness and bonding among work teams.
14. Build good rapport with Union, liaise and work with Union on the renewal of collective agreement and any union matters.
15. All HR related functions not limited to the above mentioned and any ad-hoc HR projects and tasks assigned by the General Manager.
Requirements:
Possess bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field with at least 5 years of in HR managerial position preferably in hospitality industry.
Diploma holders in Human Resource Management with at least 8 years in HR managerial position in relevant industry may be considered.
Sound understanding of HR best practices, local labour laws and governance e.g. PWM, grants and funding etc.
Leadership and team management capabilities, able to work collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to achieve Club’s objectives.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both written and spoken, with the ability to influencing stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
