Job description

Ideal Background:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Sales and Business Development with Startup experience to lead, scale and define the go-to-market (GTM) playbook covering all aspects of sales strategy, execution, and partnership growth for HYVE Promo. This role will play a key part in fostering a stronger team dynamic, building leadership capabilities, and driving our sales and SDR teams to achieve consistent performance metrics, including onboarding 90+ channel distribution, sourcing and merchandizing clients monthly.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in scaling sales teams and go-to-market strategies within multi-sided platform e-commerce environments, preferably in corporate gifting or B2B SaaS/e-commerce sectors. This person will report directly to the General Manager, who will work side-by-side and help in the build-out of our teams, to work cross-functionally with marketing, product, operations, and customer success teams to drive revenue and ensure long-term business growth.



What You will be up to:

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute and optimize the GTM playbook with a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company growth targets across APAC and the Middle East.
  • Set measurable KPIs, manage performance metrics, and continuously optimize the sales funnel.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team focused on enterprise and mid-market clients.

Year 1 Deliverables: Continuously test, challenge, improve, implement & scale a revamped sales playbook - taking a first principles mindset to identify & improve gaps

  • Achieve monthly client onboarding goals of 90+ clients with scalable systems and processes.
  • Become the top sales performers in the first 6 months by deeply understanding our client, setting the standard for sales team & SDR’s.
  • Build a great team of SDRs & key Accounts Executive, such that at any given period 70% of them are meeting quota.
  • Establish and be a critical part of a two-way feedback loop between prospective clients, the sales team & the product team, continuously taking inputs from both & distill them into relevant, consumable and actionable messages.

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including key accounts, reseller partnerships, and channel partners.
  • Establish relationships with agencies, procurement platforms, and corporate clients in industries such as FMCG, banking, tech, and consulting.
  • Explore and develop new verticals and revenue streams for the platform.

Customer Acquisition & Retention

  • Drive customer acquisition through data-driven strategies and targeted outreach.
  • Work closely with marketing to align messaging, lead generation, and nurturing campaigns.
  • Implement retention strategies to increase repeat business and customer lifetime value.

Market Expansion

  • Lead regional expansion efforts into new markets across Southeast Asia, India, and the Middle East.
  • Understand local market dynamics, competition, and regulatory environments.
  • Build localized sales strategies and partner ecosystems.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product and Marketing to shape product roadmap based on customer insights and market trends.
  • Collaborate with Operations to ensure smooth order fulfillment and scalability of services

We would LOVE to hear from you if you have:

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in sales and business development, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in a multi-sided platform or marketplace environment (e.g., B2B e-commerce, SaaS, logistics).
  • Prior experience in corporate gifting, promotional products, or branded merchandise is a plus.
  • Based in or highly familiar with SEA markets and cultural buying nuances.
  • Experience managing remote or distributed sales teams is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, and CRM tools (e.g., Netsuite, HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to analyze performance metrics and optimize strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a bias for action and results-oriented execution.
  • English (native or fluent) – Mandatory for internal communication, client interaction, and leading cross-regional teams.

and preferably:

  • Mandarin (Proficient) – Important for doing business in China, Singapore, Malaysia, and other Mandarin-speaking markets.
  • Bahasa Indonesia / Bahasa Malayu – Useful for local engagement in Indonesia and Malaysia.
  • Arabic (Basic to Conversational) – Helpful for building trust with clients in the Middle East.
  • Thai / Vietnamese / Tagalog (Filipino) – Beneficial as HYVE expands into Southeast Asia.
  • Written and verbal communication in at least one regional Asian language – Demonstrates cultural awareness and enhances client relationships.

Education & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred but not required.
