Job Description

We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.

As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or resolve technical problems.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code, review, and debug code written by others.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues to improve operational stability.
  • Proactively evaluate architectural designs, technical credentials, and their applicability within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
  • 3+ years of software engineering experience; mastery in Java for designing, coding, testing, and delivery.
  • Ability to solve complex problems using Java.
  • Hands-on experience with Java 17, Spring, Spring Boot, Oracle.
  • Knowledge of Gemfire, Cloud Foundry, AWS.
  • Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Understanding of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Proficiency in technical disciplines like cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile applications.
  • Practical experience with cloud-native development.
