United World College is seeking a passionate part-time Teacher of High School Economics and Business for its Dover Campus starting August 2025. The role involves teaching IB Diploma courses and contributing to a collaborative educational environment focused on diverse learning needs. Applicants must hold an internationally recognized qualification and reside in Singapore.
UWCSEA is seeking a passionate and committed part time Teacher of High School Economics and Business to join our Dover Campus in August 2025.
The successful candidate should be able to teach IB Diploma Economics (Grades 11 and 12) and/or IB Diploma Business Management, with opportunities to teach our bespoke UWCSEA Economics and Social Enterprise courses to students in Grades 9 and 10. There are also opportunities for teaching Theory of Knowledge or our UWCSEA Perspectives course for Grade 9 students.
The Economics and Business Department is a large team composed of enthusiastic and dynamic teachers who work in a very well-resourced environment for learning. Teachers are actively engaging in resource development across each of the UWC courses. Collectively the team is striving to ensure all students can access learning and excel to the best of their abilities.

Teachers should construct learning experiences that challenge students, support the diversity of learners in each classroom and demonstrate a strong commitment to concept-based teaching and learning.
Teachers should ensure assessments support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant and appropriate feedback to students on formative and summative assessments.
Teachers should show a willingness to be involved in collaborative curriculum planning, developing authentic and innovative learning engagements and assessments.
Teachers should demonstrate effective classroom management that shows an understanding of the academic, social and emotional dimensions of learning.
Teachers should keep parents informed about the learning of their children, and be proactive in communication with parents.

Teach in line with theUWCSEA Teacher Standards
A degree in Economics/Business and a teaching qualification is a prerequisite.
Experience or interest in curriculum development and assessment design is advantageous.
Extensive experience of teaching Economics and/or Social Enterprise related courses for Grade 9 and 10 students would be advantageous.
Extensive experience of teaching IBDP Economics and Business Management (or these subjects at a similar level) would be advantageous.
Teachers should be willing and eager to participate in the five key elements of a UWCSEA education: Academics; Activities; Outdoor Education; Personal and Social Education and Service
Academic expectations include enthusiastic participation in Professional Learning.
On average the College expects a contribution of two sessions per week in each season to Activities and/or Service, or equivalent for part time roles.
The College expects that teachers will participate enthusiastically in the curricular Outdoor Education experiences which are relevant to their students and will also occasionally volunteer for holiday Outdoor Education trips.
