Job description

Job Description:

The successful candidate will co-ordinate and complete activities necessary for Duke-NUS to demonstrate the impact of its research. We define ‘Research Impact’ as the contribution that research makes to the economy, society, environment, or culture, beyond the contributions to academic research. The position will be based in the Office of Research at Duke-NUS.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to:

  • Understand the scope and potential of the research effort from the highest performing teams at Duke-NUS.

  • Summarise and catalogue a portfolio of candidate projects and oversee the creation of a useful database of projects.

  • Apply proper methods that reveal the quantitative and qualitative impact of research teams.

  • Communicate this information to a range of stakeholders including government, board members, existing and potential donors, and the public.

  • Create brand awareness for the research efforts of Duke-NUS via social media and web pages, as well as traditional approaches for publicising academic work.

  • Collaborate with senior academics to craft a relevant and impactful story about the research that have been conducted.

  • Engage with Principal Investigators and convince them to contribute to and take part in the process.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related discipline. A post graduate qualification would be advantageous.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with some supervisory role preferred. Candidates with higher credentials may be considered for Manager position.

  • Prior work experience in the healthcare or University sectors that involves co-ordinating researchers.

  • Familiar with various impact assessment frameworks and well read on the impact agenda and associated debates.

  • Possess knowledge of the university’s research environment and/or knowledge of health services administration.

  • Possess good awareness of the research environment and national funding schemes.

  • Well organised and able to multi-task.

  • Have good people skills and can work well in teams.

  • Possess strong writing and presentation skills.

  • Able to create content for print and electronic media.

  • Enthusiastic to contribute and develop a career in the healthcare and health services domains.

  • Proficient in software needed to deliver the necessary outcomes.
