A leading design company in Singapore is seeking an entry-level interior designer. The role involves client engagement, creating design concepts, and project management. Training will be provided, making it an excellent opportunity for those looking to start a career in interior design.
Job Responsibilities:
Client Engagement: Meet with clients to understand their goals, preferences, and budget for the project. Develop a deep understanding of their lifestyle and requirements.
Conceptualization: Create initial design concepts, mood boards, and sketches that align with the client’s vision. Present and discuss these ideas to gather feedback and refine the concept.
Space Planning: Develop details space plans, floor layouts, and furniture arrangements that optimize functionality and flow within the space
Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials, color palettes, finishes, and furnishing to create a cohesive design that meets both aesthetic and functional requirements.
Budget Management: Ensure that the design aligns with the client’s budget. Source and recommend cost-effective materials and products without compromising on quality.
3D Modeling and Rendering: Utilize design software to create 3D models and realistic renderings to help clients visualize the proposed designs.
Project Management: Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the project, including working with contractors, suppliers, and other professionals. Ensure that the project stars on schedule and within budget.
Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to monitor the progress of the project, address any issues that arise, and ensure that the design is executed as planned
Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and procurement records.
Stay Updated: Keep abreast of current interior design trends, technologies, and materials to continually enhance your skills and bring fresh ideas to projects.
Qualifications:
No experience or relevant background needed. Training will be provided
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are required to work effectively with clients, team members, contractors, and suppliers, as well as to present design ideas clearly
(Must be able to speak and understand both English and Mandarin)
Able to speak and understand in English and Mandarin (as need to liaise with Mandarin speaking contractor)
Project management and organizational skills
Creative thinking and an eye for detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
