RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Role Summary: The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring personalized, and cost-effective care is provided by nursing staff to residents in accordance with the established policies and procedures, standards of nursing care, and practices. The Nurse Manager oversees the effective and efficient running of the assigned ward/department.
Quality & Safe Care Delivery
- Plan, coordinate, and develop work processes in compliance with all nursing standards as stipulated by the Singapore Nursing Board and in accordance with the Licensing Terms and Conditions of the Nursing Homes and Enhanced Nursing Home Standards (ENHS).
- Ensure smooth collation and reporting of CQI.
- Ensure written policies, procedures, and work processes as directed by the Nursing Office, with reference to the Nursing SOPs, are available and up to date to guide the provision of care.
- Facilitate implementation of policies, procedures, and care pathways in the nursing home.
- Ensure all documentation related to resident care management is accurate and current, including investigations, analysis, and incident reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (AHP, MSW, Care Concierge) to develop individualized, function-focused care plans for residents.
- Address feedback or concerns raised by residents and family members promptly.
- Provide nursing advice on the clinical care of complex cases referred by staff and monitor progress.
- Participate in monthly Nurse Leaders' Meetings (NLM), RCD Quality Assurance Committee (QAC), and Product Evaluation Committee (PEC).
Staff Management
- Ensure appropriate skill mix and adequate manpower for all shifts and service types.
- Oversee the team of RNs, ENs, NAs, CCAs, and HAs under her/his charge.
- Create a work environment conducive to high performance and job satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to manage dormitory facilities, enforce rules, support cross-cultural living among staff, and manage staff relations.
Quality Education and Staff Development
- Schedule internal structured training for staff.
- Arrange external training sessions (e.g., BCLS/AED) with partners such as pharmacists, dieticians, and doctors.
- Maintain training records and submit to My HR.
- Ensure staff meet required competencies, with records up-to-date, assessed by Nurse Managers.
- Promote evidence-based nursing practices and care delivery.
- Stay updated on current nursing and healthcare practices.
- Manage budget and resources efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Advanced Diploma in Nursing (advantageous)
- Valid practising certificate issued by the SNB
- Valid BCLS certification
- Preferably 2-3 years of experience in a similar role within a nursing home or geriatric ward
