What we are looking for

We’re seeking a Director of Payroll to lead and scale our payroll operations across multiple countries. You will oversee client-facing payroll processes, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and exceptional service. This is a key leadership role at the intersection of operations, compliance, and client experience.

The ideal candidate will have extensive regional payroll expertise, strong operational and process management skills, and experience leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of Omni’s payroll services across supported countries, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Lead and mentor the payroll operations team, fostering a high-performance and compliance-driven culture.
  • Develop and maintain robust payroll processes and controls to meet regulatory, audit, and service-level standards.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on country-specific payroll legislation, tax compliance, and statutory reporting.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to enhance payroll technology and automation.
  • Act as a senior point of contact for key clients, supporting escalations and complex payroll scenarios.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Finance, Customer Success, Legal) to support business growth and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in payroll operations, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge of multi-country payroll compliance, preferably across key Asian markets.
  • Proven experience managing payroll for external clients via managed service models or PEO/EOR arrangements.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience scaling operations.
  • Process-oriented mindset with a passion for building scalable systems and workflows.
